Are you quite sure? I remember using BSD on a VAX
in about 1978
when vi just came out. I'm pretty sure Bill Joy wrote the man
page and other documentation.
*Open-source BSD distribution. I think it had some license restrictions
when the Jolitzes made the 386 port, so they had to put an alternative.
Then it was Elvis, nvi was written later on.
