I think it is less of an issue these days, it's mostly Windows, MacOS,
Linux and bash is available there.
That said, anything I care about is v7 compat. No need to get fancy,
if I need fancy, there is C.

the ass.
This is so true for a lot of OS projects (on Github, for example). Most --
sometimes all -- the scripts that start with /bin/sh but are full of
bashisms because the authors run systems where /bin/sh is really bash.
