+1. RMS always talked big but the real work was done
by other people.
GCC was Tiemann at Sun and then at Cygnus, groff was James Clark,
etc. I think RMS hacked on emacs but not much else.
RMS hired a programmer for
emacs already in the 80ths. He also became the maintainer then. It was the dude lucid
hired for xemacs. After he skilled jwz at. al. they fired him. Tragical case.
