I have to say that the emacs bindings and bindable commands get the most
attention, at least in bash/readline. The vi mode bindings are mostly what
POSIX specifies plus some other useful ones from standalone vi.

I have a working knowledge of vi -- readline has
vi key bindings, and
POSIX specifies them -- but I wouldn't say I have a comfort level there.
Just enough to get around.
I must be weird: I use VI, but EMACS key bindings in my shells.
