I never got to the point that I liked it. I think it's the lisp
aspect, if you don't love lisp, I don't think you'll love emacs.
Not that I don't like LISP, but it's not necessary for Emacs. The
first Emacs-like editors that I used didn't have any LISP support. I
don't think that LISP really influences a normal user's interaction
with Emacs.
