I'm Warren Toomey; welcome to my personal server, Minnie.

Infrequently I add entries to my blog.

When I taught and did research at University:

• I published my Ph.D in networking
• I wrote several papers
• I gave several seminars
• Two of my popular courses were Computer Architecture and the Elements of Computing Systems
• My Operating Systems textbook is quite popular, based on the number of downloads
• Now that I have retired, my CV is now in the past tense

Otherwise,

• I've written several programs
• With friends, I've written several stories

Over on Github I have several repositories. The most browsed are:

• A Compiler Writing Journey ending with a self-compiling C compiler. I've also created alic, an "improved" C language
• Restoration of 1969 PDP-7 Unix from a source printout
• Restoration of 1972 PDP-11 Unix from a source printout
• A game of Tic Tac Toe built from discrete logic devices
• An 8-bit CPU, also built from discrete logic devices
