He was a Unix (and UUCP) fan and also an early Masscomp customer.  Let's say I was a tad in awe when I was answering his questions when he came on a factory visit.  But he was cool when I asked him if I could go back to my office and get his book so he could sign it.  I think he was pleased to see a then young professional have it in his office.
