It's amazing how often I think - I need to spend more time on sed. I am also just now beginning to understand that it's a stream ed-itor and therefore intimately related to ed, which isn't a half editor.

too bad head doesn't exist on v7. I did have to look up the incantation in Intro to the Shell by Bourne, that's fascinating stuff and it still works on my mac - nuts!
