Introduction

Welcome to the first DUAL Link Interface distribution for FreeBSD 1.1. This code and the installation is strictly BETA-TEST, so if you have any problems, try and work it out yourself (especially the installation), and contact Warren Toomey wkt@cs.adfa.edu.au if you can't work it out or you have a suggestion to fix/improve things. You will need:

• An untouched copy of the FreeBSD 1.1 kernel source code.
• A KISS-mode TNC connected to your machine via serial cable.
• Lots of luck! Maybe not, but it's best to have some.

Note that the patches file is the most difficult part of the operation; if you have made any substantial changes to the kernel code, the patches will not be applied correctly, and you may have to hand-patch your kernel code to install DUAL.
