121 Mid-Term Exam
Here is some information about the mid-term exam.
- It will be held in the lab in Week 7: date as yet unknown.
- It is a formal part of your course assessment; only very serious
reasons for missing the exam will be accepted.
- The exam is open-book, and is 1 hour 50 minutes long. The exam is
worth 25% of your course assessment.
- You may bring a calculator to the exam.
- The exam will cover the material from Weeks 1 to 6. See the lecture
& lab notes for these weeks to know what you should study.
- You will answer all questions on the question sheet. You do not need
to bring your own paper.
- There will probably be 4 or 5 questions.
- Details of the questions types will be here soon.
- In total, there are 25 marks available on the exam; you should try
to spend no more than 4 minutes per mark.
- If you communicate with anybody during the exam, use electronic devices,
or see another student's answers, you will be severely penalised.
- Note: If you don't understand a question, or need clarification
on what it is asking, you can ask the lecturer to explain the question
in another way. You cannot ask if your answer is correct etc.
- The questions on the exam were designed using Bloom's taxonomy.
There will be questions that:
- test your basic knowledge from this course;
- test your comprehension of the material;
- ask you to apply this knowledge and comprehension to obtain some answers;
and
- ask you to analyse scenarios using your knowledge.
- Please remember to go to the toilet before you come to the exam, and
to switch off your mobile phone when you are in the exam.
