Welcome to Quasijarus!
Quasijarus is a project of the International Free Computing Task Force (IFCTF) led by Special Agent Michael Sokolov which consists of tending, maintaining, enhancing, and caring for the Berkeley VAX UNIX(R) operating system, particularly the 4.3BSD-* versions.
This mission was originally carried by the Computer Systems Research Group (CSRG) at the University of California at Berkeley (UCB). They carried this mission successfully until around the time of the 4.3BSD-Tahoe release (the summer of 1988). However, starting with the 4.3BSD-Reno release (1990) and even more in the following Net/2 and 4.4BSD releases, UCB deviated from the True UNIX(R) mission in a number of ways.
The sacred mission of Quasijarus Project is thus to pick up the torch dropped by CSRG in 1988-89 and carry it forward forever.
